Check Inspections

1 MAH (Major Accident Hazard) factories per month.
ii.) Additional Director, Industrial Safety and Health.
One Factory allotted to each Joint Director, Industrial Safety and Health in his zone per month in which one MAH unit is compulsory.
iii.) Joint Director, Industrial Safety and Health.
5 Factories allotted to Subordinate Officers i.e.,
3 Factories allotted to Deputy Director, Industrial Safety and Health.
2 Factories alloted to Assistant Director, Industrial Safety and Health.

Squad Inspection under Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986 to eliminate Child Labour.

Five Inspections have to be done every month under Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act by each Joint Director, Industrial Safety and Health / Deputy Director, Industrial Safety and Health. / Assistant Director, Industrial Safety and Health, Exclusively for elimination of Child Labour. Among five , one Joint Inspection have to done every month with other department officials.

Registration of URF's :

Ten Unregistered Factories have to be inspected every month by each Deputy Director, Industrial Safety and Health / Assistant Director, Industrial Safety and Health in each division and see that no URF application is pending in the office left uninspected.

Enforcement of Building & Other Constructions Workers (Regulation of Employment and conditions of service) Act 1996 and Tamil Nadu Rules 2006:

Twenty five Unregistered Establishment have to be inspected per month and ten to be registered per month for Urban and three for Rural areas by each of the Assistant Director, Industrial Safety and Health and Deputy Director, Industrial Safety and Health. Each Deputy Director has to conduct two Training classes for safety per month in BOCW site, Covering fifty construction workers in each class.

Mobile Team :

Twenty five Firework Factories have to be inspected every month and to conduct two Safety Classes every month under the Factories Act and Rules by the Additional Director Mobile Team in Firework Factories at Virudhunagar.

  • The Minimum Wages Act 1948.
  • The Payment of Wages Act 1936.
  • The Payment of Gratuity Act 1972.
  • The Payment of Bonus Act 1965.
  • The Building and other Construction workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of service) Act 1996.
  • Manufacture, Storage and Import of Hazardous Chemicals Rules 1989.
  • The Tamil Nadu Industrial Establishments (Conferment of Permanent Status) Act 1981
